How to Remove a Background From a Logo

CutMyBG

Some logos are already clean vectors. Others are JPGs, screenshots, or photos of a sign. CutMyBG can remove the background from those image files. It does not redraw the logo as vectors.

Use the original artwork when you have it

If you have an SVG or a PNG that is already transparent, you do not need a background remover. Use that file. CutMyBG is for a logo that is stuck on a colored, white, or photographic background.

Flat logos and photographed logos

A flat logo on a solid color is usually a simple shape, and the cutout is often clean. A photo of a logo on a shop window includes perspective, glare, and the scene around the sign. The remover will try to keep the sign and drop the scene. It will not straighten the logo or rebuild blurry text.

Text and thin lines

Thin letters can break if they are small in the image. Crop closer to the mark before you start, as long as the file stays within the size limits. Afterward, place the PNG on a contrasting color and read the word. If a letter is eaten away, the source was too small or too close in color to the background.

White logos on white need the extra care described in removing a white background.
